FlickrFS

So, I’ve done a little bit of hacking on Soap,Soup,Flickr and
GnomeVFS the couple of last days. This mostly because I’m waiting around
for our designer on NAUT to finish his work. ( He’s kinda deadlocking it
atm. I need to see what sort of functions we need before I continue coding
). Now as a part of my vacation from Java, I’ve taken up on my C skills
and played around with GnomeVFS. As you can see from the picture below,
this have resulted in a pretty little Flickr hack. Yes, Kenneth have
gone Web2.0 with his hacking.

Now, I’ve come to the point that I’m starting to implement reading into
the GnomeVFS, which isn’t all that hard as one might think. It does
require me to think about how I’ve implemented the flickr backend
though.

Stay tune for updates

Well, some time waaay back I must have been quite drunk.. I can’t remember
I’ve ever touched that woman.

Book list for 2005

Seeing how I can’t finish my next book by tomorrow, I can publish
my list of books read during the year 2005 today.
This list counts only 15 books, but I’ve read some more Norwegians that I haven’t
been able to find at Amazon, thus not on this list. I’ve also left out technical
literature.
There is also some books that I’ve forgotten to put on my book list. So please don’t
tease me for just having 15 here.

Well.. with no further delay, here it is:

Neuromancer

Big Bang : The Origin of the Universe

Why People believe Weird Things

Lunar Park

The Millennium Problems

Hour Game

American Psycho

The Great Gatsby

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The Prostitute in the Family Tree

Lord of the flies

Jennifer Government

The Iliad

Fermat’s Last Theorem

My new batch is here :)

Yay, so finally my long awaited books are here :) I can’t wait until I’ve finished the baroque cycle so I can start to read it.

Kenneth

One down, several to go :)

I know it’s been a while since I last put something up here to the blog, but it’s been a lot of schoolwork lately. But enough excuses :)

I finally finished Jennifer Government, great book written by Max Barry. I’m not quite sure what to say about it except it’s a great laught and that you’ll never get the time to get bored while you’re reading it.

Well, gotta get back to hack some more C++ on my schoolproject thingi. There is a hidden segfault somewhere.

New books are on their way :)

it’s been a while since I’ve ordered some tech. books, but I finally got
around.
Ze lizt:

  • Programming Python, Second Edition
  • Linux Kernel Development, Second Edition
  • Secure Programming Cookbook,

I’ve borrowed the last one from Pic for quite a while now, so I’ll better return his and buy one for myself :)

Books

Even more books ordered…

  • The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell
  • Multiprocessor Systems-on-Chips
  • Virtual Machines: Versatile Platforms for Systems and Processes

Found the introductory chapter in the VM books so much fun that I
opted for the entire book. Doing my master’s Thesis on MPSoC, so I need that one ;) .
And, can’t be completely geek either.. Huxley 4evha!!

Movie: Saw

Yesterday I went out with some friends, and saw this great movie “Saw”. I
would hereby recomend that movie to everybody reading this blog ( Both the
two of you ).

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a western independant movie that great, and without spoil the movie to much, if you can guess the end of the movie, go ask for a refund.

New host!!

Yay!!
I’ve finally gotten around to buy myself one of those VPN thingis, and I’ve been hacking it all day. So most of today has gone to
setting up the dns server, and making this blog work well with the magic modrewrite.

Next thing will be to get the www part up and running, plus maybe do some rewrite on the comments page of this blog.
Who knows, maybe soon, I’ll have some cool langly.org mail :)

I would also send my thanks to Arne Martin who hosts my dns slave

FNORD!!

So today my main box died. After several weeks of fighting me when I tried to turn it on, sometimes I had to try several times before it would start. So, new CPU and Motherboard is on it’s way. ( Never so bad that it isn’t good for something :) )
Well, so here I am, bound to my Windows gaming box, using putty for anything useful, remembering why I love Unix.

Another thing that happened today was my trip to IBM Norway at Kolbotten, where I learnt about how to make stuff work in Rational Web Developer, which also does J2SE, J2EE and C/C++. All in all it was just an old version of Eclipse(3.0) with some cool plugins ( Take free stuff and sell for a lot of money ).

Well, I’ll better go drown my problems with lemonade and watch NCIS.
