Snowboard trip, yay!!

So I was on my second snowboard trip yesterday, same place as last week, Kongsberg. Now, I pulled one
of my standard combo which I call “Bad Landing, Angry Face 360″ where the tricks come in that order. :)

If you want to check out some of the pics that Steinar took from the trip, you could either check them out
here or my
mirror here

I’ll be missing you.

I love my box

Well, today it worked. Who knows what tomorrow will bring

Yay, so I made it through the weekend.

I even managed to stay awake during Vector analysis class today :)
We had a fun and enjoyable movie night at Inger and Arne’s place this weekend, even though I can’t get
myself to stay up late anymore. I’m feeling the age sneaking up on myself :)
Anyways, I had a great night with the rest of the gang, and I would like to thank Steinar for bringing down his
projector for us to watch movies on.

Now, on Saturday Arne held a dinner party for some of us. And having slept only 4 hours, I was the crappiest dinner guest ever. However, it was great tasting food, kudos to Arne for making it

Uploaded some more pictures from the snowboard trip, can be found at here This time it’s Ingers pictures I’ve stolen.

Synapse, the LAN!

Yay, so we finally tricked them into holding a LAN instead of us. Or they are looking into the possibilities of holding one at their school. For now all they got is a very cool page at frohikes place, but their looking into buying their own domain. Just waiting for Pic to get his dns server up so we have somewhere to slave the domain.

Again, I can’t stress enough how cool the banner Atticus made for us came out. We’ll just have to resize it a bit. It looks great at 800×600 monitors, but a little bit streched out on my 1600×1400 monitor. (Yes, this was just a paragraph well crafted for me to brag about my 21″ Sun Monitor).

Feel free to visit their page if you want to, but a fair warning, the site is in Norwegian. You might get to the forum to post some stuff, but the main news are currently written all in English.

Finally settled in here in Trondheim

Got my jacket in the mail today, so I thought I had to blog about it.

So, for those of you that wonder, Trondheim is as cold as the myth goes, not the
same problem as K is having over in SF.
I’m pretty sure that the change in weather have given me a small flue of some kind.

After 5 days I’m finally starting to feel at home here, having met all of my flatmates, 6 of them in total. All of them seems nice though, so I think I can manage to live
with them for this year. ( The bigger question might be if they can handle me
this year :) )

My apartment is a 12cm2 room included a bathroom,
which is not all that big, but it is just enough for me, Tux, Dust-puppy and the trusty old BSD Daemon.
Currently I’m sharing the kitchen and living room with the 6 others. Resulting in the kitchen having 7 sets of everything, except the room for it.

But I’ve already planned my first trip back to Oslo and Dream Theatre in Spektrum, hope I’ll see some of you then :)

I hate my computer

Right now I’m having trubles with my main computer not willing to boot when I turn it on. It checks all of my disks and then it stops and freezes. The strange thing is that it did that the first time when I got it, but earlier today it worked for a couple of minutes. For those of you wants to know, it’s a A7V600 Asus motherboard.

Well, I’ll better send it back to komplett.no, they’re usually quick at sending me a new one.

Finished my project over at Ricoh.

Yay, finally finished my school project over at Ricoh Norway. The solution we came up with was network monitoring with Nagios/MRTG (hacked to our needs) and an easy way to configure this using a Java client connecting to a configuration server written in C++ using XML/XSLT to transform the input to Nagios cfgs.

Less than a month on my current school and I’m done with NITH and my batch. degree in Computer Science!!

Well, I’ll try to get some code down on Project Soylent now plus some other projects!

I CAN’T HEAR YOU!! WHAT DID YOU SAY??

Returned from the Black Sabbath concert I was to. Being my first Sabbath concert it was an experience I wouldn’t have missed for the world.
Without trying to start any flame war about good music, if you haven’t
been to a Sabbath concert, you’ve missed something big.

Even if you’ve not a big Sabbath fan, just seeing Ozzy on the stage together with Tommi Iommi is a great experience you shouldn’t miss.

Now, the bad parts about the concert.
The support band Soulfly, brrbrr, I guess it doesn’t take much to be a band these days. I’m pretty sure they only played one or two songs for one hour.
The other thing I could stand without is the other guys on the concert. I don’t like standing that close to other guys :)

Well, but all in all it was a excellent concert, and I’m already looking forward
to the Dream Theatre one in September :)

Rock on
Kenneth

Trondheim and NTNU, here I come.

So, I’m finally moving out from home and to Trondheim
I got my application approved yesterday so the next two years I’m
going to take my master in Computer Science at the Norwegian University
of Science and Technology (NTNU).

With danger of getting sentimental, this is the start of a new era for me,
since I can’t see me returning back home (To this house, I want to live somewhere near the Oslo area later) when I’ve finished my studies in Trondheim. This means that I’ll have about 2-3 weeks left before I’ll move out of the house that I’ve lived in for the last 15 years. *sobs*

On the other hand it will be nice to finally get my own place, doing whatever I want. Lately I’ve had a feeling that this isn’t quite my own home anymore, but I think that it’s all a part of growing up.

Now the hard part of moving to Trondheim will be to relearn all of the good coffee shops and restaurants, the right places to hang, and what to do on my spare time (That is if I get some). :)

Well I’ll better finish this post here, so if anyone of you have some tips and tricks about any good places in Trondheim, or what to do at NTNU, you know my mail and how to reach me.
And I’ll swear, if I find out that any of you have been to Trondheim or nearby without contacting me I’ll get quite angry :D

Oh, I almost forgot, here’s the mandatory map clicky, I’m sorry that I can’t use goggle.map, but they don’t have good coverage of Norway yet.
